Best of Britain & Ireland Travel Show 2010

On 18th March (my birthday!) at 6am, Darren and I were getting ready to catch the train to London, for BoBI 2010. Despite the assistance guy at Euston Station bashing my chair off several walls, we managed to get to our hotel, the Copthorne Tara, in one piece. The hotel has ten accessible bedrooms which are all located on the mezzanine floor. All of the adapted bedroom doors open and close electronically, allowing ample time for a wheelchair user to pass through.

After a short walk / wheel we arrived at Olympia, for the second trade day of BOBI. TFA made some great contacts, and I had the pleasure of meeting Margaret Hodge, Minister of State for Culture and Tourism, on the stand.

That evening we had a birthday meal in the Copthorne Tara’s Bugis Street Restaurant, which specialises in Malaysian/Singaporean cuisine – and it was simply gorgeous!

Although the next day of the show, which was for consumers, was poorly attended, it was great to meet some of TFA’s members face to face.

All in all, a successful trip!
